Our Story

Posted by: Denise

It seems that too many moments are passing by and I won't be able to remember them all. I wish I had been better about writing everything down. But, I'm determined to do better and this blog is the start of it!

We've just started a new school year after a fantastic family summer. We went on two cruises this year, the first to the Mexican Riviera in April and the second to the Eastern Caribbean in July. What a wonderful time of being together! We really needed the time away from work, routine, chores, and the Tucson heat.

I captured some of our favorite moments from the summer in this greeting card that I sent to my Grandma. The inside of the card reads:

I thought that we would share a glimpse into our summer with you. Our two cruises were absolutely wonderful, but the highlight for me was the dedicated time just spent being together. Swimming, running in the backyard, making salad (one of Tyler's current favorite things to do), playing checkers, reading books, playing with play dough, swimming with stingrays, digging in the sand,.... I don't want this summer to end.

But, Drew starts first grade on Thursday! I can hardly believe it. He's taller, smarter, and is just generally good at being six. I asked him if he was worried about starting 1st grade at a new school. He said that he's worried about the weather! Once I assured him that they have air conditioning just like his preschool, he was very much relieved.

Tyler is spunky and good at trying to get his way. He's three, after all! I asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up and he said, "the same big as you". Given a few more summers like this one, I'm sure that will be true.
